What do you want your website to look like?

This will be one of the first questions I will ask you to think about when designing your site or you should consider if designing your site yourself. Think about colors, layout, and later on … features. If you already have a logo, your will want your colors to work with it. A great site for playing around with colors is the Adobe Kuler site. You can look at color schemes others have already created, or you can build your own based on complimentary, contrasting or other attributes.

I usually rely on quality WordPress themes that have already been created and then customize them to make them unique. The benefit of this is the amount of time saved, the assortment of themes available, and the price.

• Creating a theme from scratch is very time consuming and will increase the price of designing a site tremendously.

• There are probably thousands of themes available today that are very reliable, with great features.

• Many theme designers offer some of their themes for free or for very reasonable prices. I currently work closely with StudioPress as they have a fantastic assortment of quality themes that maintain web standards. If you choose to work with me, we can look at their themes, in addition to any other themes you are interested in.
