Sandstone Yoga

I had so much fun working with Lori of Sandstone Yoga on her new website. She had ideas about colors and some idea about what she wanted for a logo. Her husband got involved too and even sketched out some ideas. We were able to work from that to create the new logo and site.

Lori also gave great descriptions in her content which gave me direction for most of her graphics and photos. The Sandstone theme I created is customized from the StudioPress Genesis theme.

What a difference your graphics can make!

New Business

A friend of mine started making her own all-natural body products a couple of years ago. She’s turned this hobby into a great business … Little Sugar Naturals. She loves what she does and her products are great. She knew she needed a website to reach more people, so she was able to find a great deal on hosting through a buying membership she’s a part of. I’m really proud of her as she figured out a lot of stuff all on her own.

New Website

She asked me to look at her website for some suggestions. She’d like to eventually redo the entire thing, but isn’t quite ready yet, so for now we were just looking for some quick fixes. The first thing I noticed was the quality of her images. She’s got great content, but her images make it a bit difficult to get a good look at things. As an example for her, I took one of her old images of what raw cocoa butter looks like and manipulated it until it looked totally different. She has since then replaced her old picture of the cocoa butter with the one I edited, but I’m going to ask her to send me a copy of it to post here so you can notice the difference. Anyway, the final redo looks pretty good, huh?

New Graphics

Even if you can’t spend much on web design, flash intros, etc., try to get the best quality images possible. I really do believe that clear, quality photos and images can change the entire appearance of your website.

Open for Business

It’s official! The Digital Notebook has launched!

Excuse the annoying exclamation points all over the place, but I’m so excited I got a little key-happy! Anyway, after finally securing my business license, I’m now ready to start designing some websites, logos, blogs, or whatever. So what are you waiting for?

The Digital Notebook

tdnperspectiveThe site you’re visiting now, The Digital Notebook, was also a fun project since I was so excited to be launching it. This site is based on the StudioPress Streamline theme. If you visit the link below, you’ll see that the demo site and this site look nothing alike. It’s amazing what you can do with some coding!

The plug-ins I’ve incorporated include:

  • All-In-One SEO Pack
  • Contact Form 7
  • Featured Content Gallery
  • Google Sitemap Generator
  • Ultimate Google Analytics
  • Reveal ID’s for WP Admin

Front Royal Karate Club

frkcperspective

Front Royal Karate Club was a fun site to rework. The previous site was based on really old HTML table coding, so the move to a fresher look, easy-to-use CMS like WordPress, and a fluid way of displaying dojo photos was a welcome change.

This site is based on the Studio Press Lifestyle theme. I completely reworked the theme to meet the owners’ needs. They were looking for simple and serene.

The plug-ins I’ve used include:

  • All In One SEO Pack
  • NextGen Gallery
  • Calendar
  • Google XML Sitemaps
  • Contact Form 7
